You can do it

Highvale Primary promotes the You Can Do It program from Prep to Year 6.

This program provides all children with the foundations for achievement and social, emotional and behavioural well-being in school, work and the world of tomorrow.

The core value of the program is the development of the potential of all children by instilling in them four foundations – Confidence, Persistence, Organisation and Getting Along.

Central to the development of these four foundations is the explicit instruction in eleven habits of the mind: Accepting Myself, Taking Risks, Being Independent, I Can Do It, Giving Effort, Working Tough, Setting Goals, Planning My Time, Being Tolerant of Others, Thinking First and Playing By The Rules.

The program incorporates parent evenings and homework activities for families to ensure a strong link between home and school. This is a home-school collaborative program to promote students’ social and academical (academic) achievement.
