A Smooth Start to 2012

posted 7 Feb 2012, 20:07 by Highvale Administration

We enjoyed a wonderful start to the 2012 school year last Friday.  Students and teachers arrived looking fresh and ready for another year of exciting and challenging learning. At Highvale we have high expectations of student learning and behaviour and achieve excellent results as a consequence.  We look forward to this continuing and growing even further.

Welcome to all parents, to those who are returning, we have another great year in store and a special welcome to families who join our Highvale community for the first time. There are many opportunities for parent involvement within the school: as part of our parent helpers in the classroom program, through working bees, assisting with excursions and events such as our school musical, as a member of a sub- committee, our vibrant School Council or fabulous Parents and Friends Association.   Parental support of the teachers and the school’s programs is vital and includes displaying a positive attitude towards your child’s learning so I encourage you all to be fully involved in your child’s education in 2012.  Working together we can achieve great results.

I wish to especially welcome our 2012 Preps to the Highvale community.  Our excited and eager preppies began their primary school years last Friday and have settled in quickly.  It is great to see that the effort of parents and teachers, especially during our comprehensive 2011 Kinder to Prep Transition program has assisted in a smooth start for all.
