Term 2 'Buddies Day'

posted 28 Jun 2017, 22:51 by Highvale Administration

As we do in the last week of every school term, we celebrated ‘Buddies Day’ today. Students were placed in multi-age groups from Foundation – Year 6 and rotated around to a variety of different activities facilitated by staff. This term’s ‘Buddies Day’s activities had an emphasis on providing students with cooperative learning activities, that also had a link to our key concept of ‘Sustainability’ and/or a focus on our school value of ‘Responsibility’.

The Education Support staff facilitated an excellent session on “The key to being a good friend’. Below you will see a photo of the display they created, it’ on a wall just outside the staffroom. I encourage you to take the time to have a look your with your child/ren.

Some of the ideas that the students had about being a good friend included;

“being helpful’, “lifts you up when you fail”, “doesn’t talk behind your back or leave out”, “understands other peoples feelings”, “helps you if you are hurt”, “accepts others ideas”.

 I wish all families a safe and relaxing holiday.

 Regards,

Anthony King | Assistant Principal | Highvale Primary School
