Welcome Back!

posted 4 Feb 2018, 15:34 by Highvale Administration
Welcome back to school everyone.  We are looking forward to a very productive and enjoyable year in 2018 and encourage parents and carers to take advantage of school opportunities to learn about your child’s education at Highvale P.S.  To commence the year, our annual Parent Information sessions will be held next.  The purpose of these sessions is to communicate relevant information about our school in 2017, level and class arrangements and expectations.  An overview of curriculum for the year will also be provided.  Information will once again be provided to all families prior to the scheduled session.  This will provide parents with the opportunity to read it and return questions to teachers, if necessary.  Answers to questions will then be shared with all parents at the session.  Feedback over the past two years has indicated that this has provided an even more comprehensive information evening for all.  Please note that even though the information has been sent home prior to the meeting it will be revisited during the information session at times dependent on need.

We request that at least one parent be present at the relevant session for your child/ren to ensure routines and procedures are known by each family.

These are designed to provide an overview of the year, routines, expectations and learning.  These sessions will be provided by teachers next week at the following times:

-Prep – Year 2     Monday 12th February 3.45-4.45pm

-Year 3 – 4            Tuesday 13th February 3.45-4.45pm

-Year 5 - 6             Wednesday 14th February 3.45-4.45pm

Staff and our PFA would also like to warmly welcome everyone in our school community especially our new families, to our ‘Welcome BBQ’ on Monday 12th February 4.45-5.45pm.  The BBQ will be an informal event and will be held near the Prep – 2 play ground.  This is a great opportunity to meet our teachers and get to know other families in our school.
